About Christopher

Originally from Wolfville, Nova Scotia, Christopher Lindsay has lived, worked, and studied in five different Canadian provinces; raising two sons in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 20 years of experience as a Microbiologist helped refine Lindsay’s ability to engage and interpret visual information, grounding him in a profound appreciation for the systems of this cosmos and all that sustains its balance.

Having arrived, later in life, at a commitment to focus on cultivating his personal artistic expression, he completed his BFA at the University of Ottawa (2011) and MFA at the University of Victoria (2013). This resulted in opportunities to exhibit his work in Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Victoria and Vancouver.

Christopher was recently employed as a sessional instructor in the Department of Visual Arts at University of Victoria where he taught undergraduate classes in sculpture (methods and materials) and printmaking. As well he guided workshop activities and shop training for Fine Art students. He currently lives full-time in the Village of Shell Lake, Saskatchewan.

Lindsay champions the question (over the answer), weighing its potential for meaning against his own experience of living. He explores the expressive potential of alternative aesthetic methodologies, often the product of his own exploration and invention.
